They say that people have greater significance for the place of
their birth. True, but Lahore has a magical charisma above all other cities. I
know people who came to Lahore for a defined period of time but their
fellowship with this city became indelible. An amalgamation of Sikh, Mughal and
British architect, the city narrates the stories of its glorious past in a
distinct way. The mouth-watering food on stalls at every corner of the city or
the emerging fancy food chains, the city amazes you at every glance. The people
are described as Zinda Dillan-e-Lahore, topped up with hospitality,
enthusiasm and humor. Whether it is Anarkali, Bano Bazar, Rang Mahal, Shah Alam
Bazar or Landa Bazar, the markets in this part of the earth will amaze
you in numerous ways. You may find modern architect in other parts of the
world, but this uniqueness formed by harmonious combination of tradition and
modernity is astounding.
