Pak Tea
House is a place in Lahore. Here most of the intellectual, country’s notably
artistic, cultural and literary personalities, often visit. Here you can give
your opinion and no one will judge you. People here work hard to translate
their ideas into action. This place is often described as “The house of writers
and thinkers who serve the nation selflessly.
The café
was founded by a Sikh Family in 1932.
Later it was given to Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in 1940s.
A local food supplier named Sirajuddin
Ahmad rented the house from the YMCA administration and
renamed it as "Pak Tea House" in 1947. It was shut down for some
years but it was again inaugurated with the help of PM and Lahore Commissioner
in 2013.
Raza
Ahmed is a writer he has gathered some bloggers and they have made a blog named
“Pak Tea House”. Here they try hard to support the culture of debate, pluralism
and tolerance. They want to see Pakistan as a better place. Here they give
ideas and brain storming is done. They want their ideas to become reality that
leads us to an equitable, just and healthy society.
People
write different things on this blog to bring a positive change in our society.
For example a blogger Farah Ehsan wrote an article about Ardeshir Cowasjee in
Pak house tea. This is a great place where opinions collide with each other and
come up with a solution to a particular problem. (Zeeshan Hameed)
